Why Study Biology A-Level?
Do you have an interest in the natural world and all the living things in it? If you've answered yes then Biology could be a great A-Level for you to study!
From the largest mammals to microscopic DNA, biologists study how animals and organisms work (including humans), how we have evolved and use this knowledge to try to do things like stopping diseases, improve public health and animal care.
As part of this two-year course, you will learn about a wide range of biological concepts and techniques, including:
- health and diseases
- theory of DNA replication
- biochemistry of photosynthesis
You will also discover how you have developed from a simple single cell into a complex, multi-cellular, organism and how the genetic code has allowed such complexity to thrive on Earth.
