Students at USP College celebrate A-Level results
Thursday, 16 August 2018
Students celebrated picking up their A-Level results from USP College.
The college has 31 A-Level courses that achieved a 100% pass rate.
Nearly 60% of students at the college, which has campuses in Chadwell Road, Grays, and Runnymede Chase, Benfleet, achieved high grades.
Principal Dan Pearson said: “It was great to see so many students happy with their grades and speak to them about their plans after college.
“This year we have worked hard to bring our two campuses together and improve facilities for our students. We are excited to continue to build on our successes and congratulate our students and staff for all their hard work.”
These positive results come as the college prepares to start a new academic year as USP College.
Standing for Unified Seevic Palmer’s, the new brand reflects the direction the college is taking – career-focused learning giving students the skills employers need. Students will not only gain formal qualifications but will develop professional skills desired by businesses.
While studying at USP College, students are able to join a College Company. These businesses give learners the chance to experience working life and collaborate on projects for local and national businesses.
This is in addition to seven bespoke professional development days which students take park in throughout the academic year. The rounded study programme helps students gain the competitive edge for university applications or in their chosen industry.
The colleges first laid out proposals to join forces and create a successful, strong and secure college to serve the young people and communities in South Essex and Thurrock in early 2017.
The merger, completed on 1 August 2017, took the best from both existing colleges to create even better opportunities for young people.
Both campuses will continue as previously and students will enrol and study at either Seevic or Palmer’s Campus. There will be no requirement for students to travel between sites.
Current students, and those joining the college this September, will continue studying at their selected campus.
Enrolment for courses starting in September begins from 23 August. To find out more call 01268 756 111, email firstname.lastname@example.org or apply online.
