Seevic Storm dominate AoC National Finals

Wednesday, 25 April 2018

The Seevic Storm Academy had a very successful weekend securing a handful of medals at the AoC National Finals at Nottingham University.

Medals awarded included:

  • Gold Medal – Rugby Men’s 7s
  • Gold Medal – Men’s Squash, Harry Kitchens
  • Silver Medal – Woman’s Cross Country, Sinead Clarke
  • Silver Medal – Men’s Cross Country Team
  • Bronze Medal – Netball

Along with the success of the medals our Women’s Football Academy tied in third place but missed out on a medal by 1 goal and our Women’s Basketball team placed a respectable 6th after only playing together on several occasions this year.

The Rugby Academy have been crowned champions for the second year in a row after not losing a single game against some tough competition including, Truro, Hartlepool and Myescough College.

Head of Sport, Craig Davidson, said: “The hot weather made this a brutal and physical test for a lot of our students over the course of three days of competition.

“The attitude and behaviour of our students was impeccable and a real credit to our college, myself and the team are incredibly proud of them all and for what we have achieved with a serious amount of hard work and commitment.”

When speaking about the overall success of the AoC National Finals Craig added: “The AoC Sport National Finals proved to be one of our most successful ever. To come home with a gold and silver is a real testament to the level of the programme we offer.”

Seevic have had a fantastic year so far and are hoping the success continues with both the Rugby and Football Academy competing in a range of finals over the next coming weeks.
