The Academy had a successful first game against Oakland’s College winning 80-5.

Jake Spivey, 19, who has been named Captain this year said: “This was our biggest win over Oaklands in college history.

“The game was a good chance to show what we are capable of and impress the coaches by stepping.

“The boys have really come together since August and being Captain is a massive honour. With some big games coming up, we now need to ensure that the we continue to train and keep up momentum.

“We hope to have another successful season ahead of us.”

Danny Cleare, Head of Rugby added: “The result against Oaklands was tremendous and certainly our best ever win over them. This was our first run out for our full U19 team, we physically dominated and had some outstanding tries scored.

“Overall this was a great way to start our league campaign as we try to defend our Premiership Title.”

Seevic Storm are holding an Open Day on Wednesday 25 September, where you can join the teams in training.
