International England Rugby player to launch Women's team
Wednesday, 13 September 2017
International England Rugby player Sally Tuson will lead a brand new Women’s Rugby team at Seevic College.
Females at the college will have the opportunity to train and play Women’s Rugby, alongside their course, and represent Seevic Storm.
Sally, who has played at Premiership clubs including Bristol and Saracens, will head up the new women’s team.
Sally has also represented England in International 15’s and 7’s and during that time went on tours to New Zealand, Spain, France, Italy and competed in two Six Nations tournaments.
Sally said: “I am extremely excited to start; it’s basically my dream job – to work in a sport that has given me so much!
“Rugby is something I am very passionate about, and to have the opportunity to grow and develop grassroots rugby is amazing. My biggest aim is to encourage other girls and women to get involved in a sport that is so rewarding.”
Sally studied a BSc in Criminology and Education at Cardiff University where she developed her love for rugby. Sally was a late starter but that has not held her back.
Sally won ‘Most Improved Player and Players’ Player’ along with Bristol’s ‘Most Improved Player’ in two successive seasons.
This is an opportunity for all female students to try a new sport, meet new people and compete across the UK.
It’s not too late to apply for a course at the college for this September. To find out more or to apply online, visit seevic-college.ac.uk.
