Seevic College host annual Christmas Art Auction on Thursday 3 December
Tuesday, 01 December 2015
Seevic College is hosting its annual Christmas Art Auction on Thursday 3 December. Taking place in The Octagon Theatre from 6-8pm, this will be an opportunity for the public to purchase unique hand crafted art work, perfect for a Christmas gift.
Students who are currently studying the Art Foundation Diploma at Seevic have been working hard ready for their work to go up for auction.
The Foundation Art students have taken part in a project called ‘400%’, to each produce a unique product to auction off, in order to raise funds for their End of Year Show. The funds produced by the students will allow them to display their work beautifully and professionally, with a chance to use a London art gallery. We aim to raise £2000, which will give the students this remarkable opportunity.
On the night, viewing of the art work will be from 6-7pm with wine provided, and then bidding will start at 7-8pm. You will be able to bid on a multitude of beautiful handcrafts, ranging from bespoke and hybrid modern designs.
Tad Blower, Head of Creative Arts said “This is such a fantastic event for all students to be involved in, not only is it a really thrilling night, but it also gives students a greater sense of value and cost when designing, creating and making
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the Foundation Art students to not only exhibit the hard work they have put into this project, but for an evening of excitement and enjoyment for all, showing support for the students.
Admission is free and there is no need to book in advance.
Seevic offer the Art Foundation Diploma as a progression route for students who have completed A-Levels or BTEC to progress to a specialist art College or employment in the Creative Arts Industry.
