Rugby Team and Coach nominated for prestigious local awards

Seevic College is proud to have two nominees on the shortlist for the Echo Sports Awards 2015.
The Seevic Rugby Team has been nominated in the ‘Team of the Year’ category, while Director of Rugby Danny Cleare has been nominated for ‘Coach of the Year’.
The prestigious awards are a celebration of a year of sporting excellence in South Essex.
The Rugby Team and Danny were nominated following their successful run to the final of the NatWest Vase at Twickenham earlier this year.
They will now go head to head against some of the biggest sporting names in the county, with voting open to the public by email until 31 December 2015.
After discovering his nomination, Danny Cleare said: “It's come as a bit of a surprise but it is very touching to get the recognition for the successful programme we run at Seevic. There are some really high profile coaches on the shortlist and it is nice to be amongst those sorts of names. I am also strongly supported by some outstanding coaches and without them we would not have been anywhere near as successful as we have been.”
Head of Competitive Sport Craig Davidson said: “It’s been another great couple of weeks for Seevic Sport. Firstly with the news that the College will again be among the most represented colleges in England at the National Championships. And now to hear that Danny and his team have been nominated for such prestigious awards. This is an ongoing testament to our dedication to provide the best sporting experiences for our students.”
The winner in each category will be decided by a combination of the public vote and the opinion of the Echo’s expert panel.
