Seevic College commissions Christmas card designed by A-Level student
Tuesday, 09 December 2014
A-Level student Bella Atkins has won a competition to design Seevic College’s corporate Christmas card.
Bella, 18, fought off some strong competition from fellow design students at the College to see her artwork published and distributed to hundreds of schools, businesses and college stakeholders in the community.
In October, A-Level Graphic Design students were set a brief: to design an electronic Christmas card which adhered to the College’s formal brand guidelines.
All submitted entries were judged by a panel, comprising Principal Nick Spenceley, Marketing & Public Relations Manager David Gladwin and Programme Area Manager for Creative & Performing Arts Tad Blower.
As the competition winner, Bella received a £40 Amazon voucher and an enlarged print of her design which included an artwork credit in her name.
Principal Nick Spenceley said: “I’d like to offer my warm congratulations to Bella. All three judges agreed that her design was the clear stand out winner - her creativity and attention to detail were very evident in her submitted artwork.”
Bella previously attended The Appleton School in Benfleet and is studying A-Levels in Graphic Design, Drama & Theatre Studies and English Language & Literature (combined). She hopes to study a combined Honours degree in Drama and English at university from September 2015.
She said: “I really enjoyed this project, as it gave me the chance to be creative in different ways using a variety of design packages. Ever since showing my final design to my mum, she has been asking how I got on in the competition - now I’ll finally be able to tell her!”
