Seevic Student Ambassadors before the October Open EveningA record-breaking number of young people and their families visited Seevic College’s most recent Open Evening on Tuesday 14 October.

A total of 1,012 parties descended on the College, located at Runnymede Chase, Benfleet, for its first open evening of the 2014-15 academic year .

The unprecedented volume of visitors temporarily brought local traffic to an early evening standstill, as young people and parents took the opportunity to tour the college and find out about its offer of A-Levels, BTECs, Professional Qualifications and Apprenticeships.

The huge level of interest in the College followed record-breaking results for students in summer 2014, including the College being among the top 10% of national schools and colleges for progress achieved by its AS Level students.

There was also a record number of applications received from prospective students on the night.

Principal Nick Spenceley said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere and energy around the College throughout the evening. I was thrilled to meet so many young people and parents in person, and glad that visitors weren’t put off by the damp weather outside.”

Seevic College offers the widest choice of A-Levels in South Essex in addition to Vocational Qualifications, Professional Qualifications, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and Adult & Community learning.

The college’s next Open Evening takes place on Tuesday 25 November 2014, from 5.30pm to 8pm. Visitors are advised to pre-book online here to secure Fast Track Entry on the night.
