Six Seevic College Learning Plus Tutors have raised £500 for charity by taking part in the Moonlight Colourthon.
Tutors Debbie Elliott, Jill Whight, Debbie Butler, Julie Clark and Debbie Catt completed the half-marathon walk across the Southend area on Saturday 6 July to raise money for Little Havens, Essex Air Ambulance and Macmillan nurses.
The Moonlight Colourthon saw the ladies, who are all based at the College’s Benfleet Campus in Runnymede Chase, walk 13 miles against the backdrop of Southend by night.
They left Chalkwell Park at 8pm wearing an array of bright and colourful clothing, taking in the waterfront along Southend Seafront and cliff tops at Westcliff.
They then continued their walk through Old Leigh Village and Leigh itself, before finishing back at Chalkwell.
The Learning Plus team at Seevic College aims to provide a learning experience tailored to the needs and abilities of each of the College’s students, helping them to achieve their full potential.
The team assists students with issues such as Dyslexia, English as an Additional Language (EAL), study skills and any other identified needs, to encourage their independence.
