In advance of starting his Level 2 AAT Accounting Apprenticeship, Sam Fink decided to attend one of Seevic's employability workshops.
Having always been interested in the financial services, Sam decided to apply for an AAT Accounting apprenticeship.
Since finishing his BTEC Art & Design at the college, Sam has volunteered at an insurance company to get more experience but still wanted to improve on his employability skills. This is where Seevic College's employability workshops came in.
Alongside seven other students, the four-day long workshops enabled Sam to build on his CV writing skills and interview techniques. On the last day of the workshop, the college offered Sam two interviews to help him progress with his Apprenticeship - one of which he secured at Rochford District Council.
Sam said: "I'd heard really good things from other people about Seevic, and was impressed by their success rates.
"All staff were very prompt, and the skills programme was very helpful. There was a very quick turnaround and they helped me to go where I want very quickly."
Samantha Ellis, former Employment Skills Advisor at Seevic College, added: "Sam was very professional when he attended our four-day training. We were able to get to know him and so were able to find the ideal job for him as well as the perfect candidate for Rochford District Council."
Sam concluded: "I'd really recommend anyone taking an Apprenticeship, as it's a great route and there are so many frameworks.
"It's a great way to get into the workplace, and not only do you get a qualification you also get great work experience.
"My aim is to get all the way to the Level 4 AAT Apprenticeship and secure a full-time job at the end."
