Currently studying her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Pharmacy at Seevic College, Celine talks about her time on the programme and offers her advice to those looking to do a similar thing.
"At the moment, I'm working in a Dispensary which I really enjoy. Jobs include assembling prescription items, putting the correct labels on them and assisting my colleagues.
"I love helping the customers and giving them advice regarding the products that we sell over the counter.
"Alongside this, my time at college is made enjoyable by our class tutor who offers interesting activities to the subjects I encounter at work.
"At the end of each unit, we're assessed through an exam. Plus, an assessor visits me at my workplace from time to time to do some observations. He also facilitates in checking my progression on my e-Portfolio.
"Seevic gives us support whenever we need it - for example, with problems in the workplace. My colleagues, on the other hand, help me through my course by lending me books, leaflets and magazines to read which is really useful.
"I really recommend this course to anyone looking to get into the pharmaceutical industry, as it will give you a lot of experience on what happens on a day-to-day basis in the Pharmacy. You can also progress to Level 3 and work through to becoming a qualfied Pharmacy Technician.
"I think, based on my experience, you shouldn't put aside the NVQ requirements (evidences) because it may affect your success in finishing the course. And make sure you take time to do them so that you can finish it before the deadline!"
