Seevic students create TV ad for film company
Tuesday, 14 February 2017
Creative students at Seevic College are working with a film company to produce a new TV commercial.
Members of Live Creative are working with Ben and Natalie Scarsbrook who own Blatella Films. The group has been asked to come up with an advertisement for the company.
Live Creative is one of Seevic’s College Companies. Working within this company, students get the chance to gain employment skills that complement their learning.
Natalie said: “They can go John Lewis style and just create a nice story or it can be a straightforward advert.
“We’ve given them the live brief as we thought it would be a good exercise to give them the task of advertising us.”
Natalie and Ben came into Seevic to meet the students and hear their ideas as well as take a tour of the newly-installed film studio.
Student Kai Robinson, 17, from Southend, is one of the group working on the project.
He said: “It has been really good so far. It is nice to get the experience of working with a production company.
“I want to go into filmmaking and be a director.”
