Seevic students Jack Wiseman, 18, Harrison Edwards, 17, Carl Boswell, 17, and Tom Lewzey, 17, who all study Level 3 BTEC Business, charged guests £5 per ticket for the event, which was organised as part of their course at the College.

Harrison said: “It was a great night at the Rio Bar, filled with friends and family watching local signers perform for a great cause. The event has helped bring the community together as well as raise a huge amount for charity.”

Jack added: “Thank you to Rio’s Bar for letting our group host a brilliant evening to raise money for Havens!”

Alfie Knight, 17, who also studies Level 3 BTEC Business, attended the event and said: “It was a cracking night out, absolutely terrific.” Carl added: “It was a great night and I was very pleased with the turnout. The music was also very good from all the local acts.”

The final team member Tom said: “Many thanks to the Rio Bar for allowing us to use the venue; it was a well organised event for a great cause. It was definitely worth all the effort and work for such a great final result.”

Another student who attended the event, Dan Rust, 18, agreed, adding: “It was a brilliant night and I had a fantastic time!”
