Seevic Storm hosted a football match with Norwegian team Sunnfjord, in a friendly international game organised by Sporting Events Limited (UK).
Seevic won the day 8-1, on Wednesday 25 February 2015, with Team Captain Kjetil Stray Homme scoring for Sunnfjord.
Seevic’s scorers included: 18 year-olds Scott Clarke (one goal) and Alex Stephenson (two goals); 17 year-olds Connor Peralta (two goals) and Jack Chatterway (one goal); 16 year-old Josh Wiggins (two goals).
The game was played on the Astro Turf at Waterside Farm, Canvey Island, where the Storm team regularly train.
The visitors, playing over 700 miles from home, stopped for the game on their way to see Arsenal take on AS Monaco in the Champion’s League. Following that, the Norwegian team will be jetting off to Rio-de-Jeneiro to take part in a football training camp.
Brian Horne, from Sporting Events Limited, said: “We usually work with professional Scandinavian teams, organising events like The Atlantic Cup, but we’d really like to do more games like this one. This type of exchange is beneficial for the local area, helps build relationships across the continent, and is great for grassroots football in general.”
