Tad Blower, Curriculum Area Leader for Art, provided Art Direction for East End Babylon – being shown at the Festival, held at The O2, between Friday 25 April and Monday 28 April.

The film tells the story of 1980s punk band Cockney Rejects, depicting their involvement in the hooligan cults of the time.

In addition to Art Direction, Tad, a Fine Artist and animation specialist, provided storyboards, animation and graphics for the film.

Seevic College offers A-Level, vocational and Higher Education Art & Design qualifications at our Benfleet Campus – including a new Higher National Diploma (HND) in Art & Design from September 2013.

The two-year HND course will provide students with the opportunity to develop a broad, practical understanding of creative design processes. Following completion of the HND, students will be able to top up to a full BA (Hons) Degree.

At the College, Tad is passionate about sharing his industry experience with students.

“Almost all our Art & Design curriculum staff at the College are professionals involved in real-life projects." Curriculum Area Leader for Art, Tad Blower

He says: “Almost all our Art & Design curriculum staff at the College are professionals involved in real-life projects, from exhibiting artwork to producing textiles. I think it’s essential to have that experience and be able to share it with our learners.”

Tad will be taking part in a seminar panel at The O2 on Friday 25 April to talk about how East End Babylon was made, how storyboards were developed and to take part in an audience Q&A.

Alongside Tad, the panel will include the film’s Director Richard England, Editor Henry Stein and original Guitarist from the band Micky Geggus.

The Sundance London Film & Music Festival will see four days of live music, UK premieres of independent films plus panel discussions and filmmaker Q&As.

The London Festival is an expansion of the world renowned American Sundance Film Festival, held annually in Utah and chaired by legendary actor Robert Redford.
