HR Generalist (Advisory Level)

Benfleet, Essex

Fixed Term Contract – immediate until 31 December 2017

£30,000 per annum, pro rata for the duration of the contract period

A unique opportunity has arisen for a fixed term post for a HR Generalist to work across two sites.  It is anticipated that the role will be split 60/40 between Grays and Benfleet.

The College is going through a period of accelerated change and this post requires the experience of a true generalist who will be instrumental in providing operational merger support, reviewing and improving existing HR policies, practices and processes and providing comprehensive support to both HR teams. 

Candidates must have comprehensive experience in the following disciplines:

  • Contract preparation and generation of job descriptions
  • Interviewing
  • Policy amendment
  • HR Databases
  • Managing first line investigation for disciplinary, grievance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a high standard of IT literacy and experience of report writing
  • Previous merger experience at any level advantageous

Additionally, the successful candidate must have:

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Structured approach to work
  • Strong time management skills
  • Certificate in Personnel Practice completed or working towards

Candidates must also have a clean driving license and be in a position to drive between both locations.
