Designed to allow students to learn and develop relevant skills and vocational knowledge, our Vocational Pathways provide them with the confidence to effectively manage their lives.
Together with Functional Maths, Functional English and a Personal and Social Development qualification, our Vocational Pathway programmes offer the opportunity to progress on to Level 2 within a student’s chosen vocational area.
During the course of the year, students focus on a specific vocational pathway of their choice.
In 2014/15, students on eight out of nine of our pathways had a 100% success rate.
Functional English lessons enhance students' communication skills, including interview skills to offer relevant experience for future employment. Alongside this, Functional Maths helps improve everyday Maths skills in a fun yet practical way.
Preparation for Adulthood
To gain confidence and prepare for adulthood, we give students the responsibility to set targets for their own Personal and Social Development. From driving a car to work experience and a residential weekend, this is practiced through a variety of activities.
Supported by our team of supportive staff, students will be assessed through assignments based on their practical experiences.
