Are you looking to pursue a career within
the Sports Science industry? Our Higher
National Diploma course will stretch and
challenge your existing knowledge of Sports
Science, preparing you for further study at
university level. Modules include:
• Anatomy & Physiology for Sport & Exercise
• Sport & Exercise Psychology
• Biomechanics for Sport
• Laboratory & Experimental Methods in Sport & Exercise Sciences
• Physical Education
• Biochemistry of Exercise
• Sport & Exercise Rehabilitation
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course is assessed by 100% coursework and therefore no formal examinations will take place (although you may be expected
to complete end of module tests). Assessments methods will challenge you over a broad range of the intricacies of
Sports Science, and include written reports, oral presentations, laboratory
experimentation and practical observations.
General Entry Requirements
• 240 UCAS Tariff points
• BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport &
Exercise Science at MMM plus GCSE
Grade C in English Language and Maths or Science
All applicants will be interviewed.
What could I do next?
On successful completion of the course you will be able to continue your progression
within the Sports Science industry or top-up to a full Degree. There will also be
opportunities for Strength & Conditioning Internships for learners (subject to interview)
with placements at Seevic College, Southend United and Southend RFC.
