Employer Testimonials

Jane Fletcher, Castle View School

Castle View School, Canvey Island worked with SEEVIC College to place apprentice Billy Gorringe – a student studying the Sports Coaching Apprenticeship. He worked at the school as an Assistant PE Instructor during his Apprenticeship and since completing the course has secured a job as a Sports Coach at the School.

Jane Fletcher said: “Working with SEEVIC College on the Apprenticeship Programme has been an excellent experience and has bought enormous benefits to the school. It has been a valuable experience having the Apprentices in the PE department as it has allowed us to do a lot more individual extra-curricular coaching and increased the individual teaching within lessons, it has also given us continuity in our club activities.

“Billy has responded well in the department and has really fitted into the role well with his kind and caring personality. He loves Rugby and his enthusiasm and interest has helped with the further development of Rugby within the school; we don’t know how we coped without him.

“The College staff have been helpful and supportive and we have had good communication with them. We have worked together to improve students’ skills and have built a great working relationship with the College.

Another SEEVIC apprentice, Ryan Clark, has joined us recently and is looking to use his expertise in football to help extra curricular clubs and lessons in school. Ryan has settled in very well and we would not hesitate to take on another SEEVIC apprentice.”

Emma Lawrence, Canvey Community Children's Centre

"Here at Canvey Community Children's Centre we truly believe in the work experience programme. We have been taking part in SEEVIC'S programme for a number of years now and have had many shy, quiet students who have come through our doors and leave as mature, confident adults.

The opportunities available to students are endless from learning new skills, working as part of a team, building confidence and feeling a sense of achievement. Through hard work and enthusiasm demonstrated from students on placement, future employment may be a prospect."

Nicola Martin, Rascals Childcare

“As an employer I chose to work with SEEVIC because of their reputation and consistently high level of delivery.”
