Association of Accounting Technicians - Advanced Apprenticeship
Advanced Apprentices are employed and will normally be aiming for a technical, supervisory or junior management role.
The training, which comprises of the same mix of off-the-job learning and on-the-job practical work, leads to an NVQ at level 3 (equivalent to two A Levels), a Technical Certificate and the relevant Key Skills.
An Advanced Apprenticeship takes between 12 and 36 months, depending on the occupational area.
You will receive on the job training from your employer giving you hands-on practical experience, skills and knowledge.
You will also receive formal tuition in the College through a day release programme. On completion of Level 3 you can also progress onto the final level i.e. AAT Technician Level 4 to become a qualified Accountant where you will specialise in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Personnel and Business Taxation. You will also be able to write the letters MAAT against your name.
Advanced Apprenticeship Entry Requirements
Foundation (Level 2) Apprenticeship and GCSE – Maths and English C or above is preferred. Applicants for an Advanced apprenticeship must be currently employed and have experience and proven competency within in the industry.
