Duration: 15 Month Course
Pharmacists play a vital role in improving patient care through the medicine and information they provide. Get started in this well-respected field with our Level 2 Apprenticeship.
Throughout our 15-month course, you'll dispense medicines, provide advice and control stocks of pharmaceutical materials under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist.
Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians have a lot of contact with the public, so great communication skills are essential for an applicant.
During your time at college and within the workplace, you will be trained in the following areas:
- Assist with the provision of a pharmacy service to meet individuals' needs
- Ensure your own actions reduce risks to Health & Safety
- Contribute to the effectiveness of teams
- Communicate with pharmacy customers
- Law, Regulation and Health & Safety in Pharmacy
- Working in the Pharmacy Team
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills
- Employment Responsibilities and Rights.
A variety of optional units will be chosen with the employer, apprentice and training provider; opportunities to practice these in the workplace will also be put in place.
How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
You'll attend College one day per week and be assessed in the workplace by your portfolio of evidence. You will also be assessed through online exams.

What Could I Do Next?
You could progress to an advanced level Apprenticeship or full-time employment in the industry. Potential roles could include being a Pharmacy Assistant or Dispensing Assistant.
General Entry Requirements
Grades A/8-D/3 in English, Maths and ICT.*
*If candidates do not have the required grades in English or ICT, they may be able to take it at Functional Skills level alongside the Apprenticeship.
