Level 2, Apprenticeship
Duration: One Year Course
Make a real difference to the lives of others every day with a career in Health and Social Care.
You'll be helping people with specific needs; this might mean that you'll be looking after young people, assisting older people, or caring for people with mental health issues or disabilities.
Throughout your time on the course, you could be working in a hospital, a hospice or you might even provide care within the community.
Core units include:
- Introduction to Communication in Health, Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings
- Understand Person Centred Approaches in Adult Social Care Settings
How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
You'll attend College one day per week and be assessed in the workplace by your portfolio of evidence.

What Could I Do Next?
You could progress to an advanced level Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care or full-time employment in the industry. Potential roles could include being a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support Worker.
General Entry Requirements
Grades A/8-D/3 in English, Maths and ICT.*
*If candidates do not have the required grades in two (maximum) of the above subjects, they may be able to take them at Functional Skills level alongside the Apprenticeship.
