What will I do?
This course focuses on improving your IT knowledge as well as providing you with skills for life. It will teach you all the basics of using a computer; whether working at home, surfing the internet or working in the office. These are vital skills that employers believe are lacking in many job candidates.
You will study ICT skills covering internet surfing, emailing, word processing and PowerPoint. Different ways of displaying,
communicating and searching for information, including creating graphs, charts and tables.
You will also study skills for life in English.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You will be required to use a computer outside of your time in the classroom;
therefore having access to a home computer would be an advantage. Local libraries offer IT facilities that can be used
by the general public.
Assessment
IT Skills for Life will be assessed by an online examination at the end of the course.
Progression
Learners can progress onto Workskills for Life, Sage Accounting or The AAT Foundation course.
