This is a FREE* course for learners who need to obtain a GCSE Grade C or above in Maths.
You will study topics such as:
- Shape and space
- Basic algebra.
The course also includes a large element of functional maths, which will show you how to apply maths in real world situations.
How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
You will be taught in classes that feature a range of activities that will help you build your core maths skills. You will be given regular tests to enable you to keep track of your progress. The final assessment is two exams in June, a non-calculator paper lasting 75 minutes and a calculator paper lasting 105 minutes.
What Could I Do Next?
A GCSE grade C or above in Maths is essential for certain careers and is well regarded by the majority of potential employers.
You can also go on to study one of the many Access to Higher Education courses at the college in preparation for university.
