What level is right for me?

The information below outlines the General Entry Requirements for the different course types offered at Seevic College.

AAT Accounting

AAT Foundation or four GCSEs at grade B or above including GCSE English Language and Maths.

A Levels* (A BTEC Subsidiary Diploma may be taken in place of one A Level)

  1. At least five GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English Language GCSE.
  2. An average point score of 5.0 calculated from all of your GCSE subjects.
  3. A commitment to an additional four hours of study per A Level subject per week.

Administration & Secretarial Studies

At least four GCSEs at grade C or above which should include English Language OR a related vocational qualification at Merit level, plus GCSE English Language at grade C or above. You will also need to commit to an additional 10 hours of study per week.

BTEC Diplomas/Extended Diplomas*

At least four GCSEs at grade C or above or a Level 2 BTEC Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Merit Level. You will also need to commit to an additional eight to 12 hours of study per week.

BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas*

These qualifications will normally be taken as part of an A Level programme. Students will usually take one BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in place of one A Level. You will also need to commit to an additional four hours of study per week.

Apprenticeships

A minimum of two GCSEs at grade D or above including Maths is preferred but not essential. Entry onto the course is subject to an interview and selection day. For Advanced Apprenticeships please contact us on 01268 756 111.

BTEC Diplomas*

At least two GCSEs at grade D or above or having successfully completed a Foundation Learning course in a related area and achieved Level 1 in English for Functional Skills. You will also need to commit to an additional 10 hours of study per week.

Essential Skills

Our Essential Skills programme aims to enable students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to progress through a series of one-year modules into opportunities in Further Education, training and employment.

Students will usually stay with the College for three years.

There are no specific entry requirements. The course is primarily designed for students who would find it beneficial to receive a fully integrated programme below Level 1, work at a pace that is right for them but still be challenged and encouraged to work hard.
