IT Practitioners
BTEC National Diploma - Two-year course
The BTEC National Diploma for IT Practitioners is a two-year course. It is designed for students who have chosen an IT related career pathway. Students learn by completing assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. A total of 18 units are studied, including mandatory and specialist units. These may include:

Careers and Further Studies
This qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and skills for learners wishing to enter a career as IT practitioners or technicians in the area of business systems, user support, networking and software development. It also provides progression to Higher Education vocational qualifications such as a BTEC Higher National Diploma or a full-time degree.
General Entry Requirements
At least four GCSEs at grade C or above or a BTEC First Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Merit level.
Specific Entry Requirements
C or above in GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths.
