Level 3, BTEC Extended Diploma - Two-year course

What will I learn?
Year 1: Nine units of fundamental sports knowledge including anatomy, physiology, sports psychology and fitness testing. Year 2: Nine further units of specialist package knowledge including, sport & exercise massage, sports injuries and current issues in sport.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Students will experience a variety of learning and teaching methods which will fully aid the completion of their assignment work. Assessment is 100% assignments/coursework.
General Entry Requirements
At least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or a Level 2 BTEC Diploma (or equivalent) in a related area at Merit Level. You will also need to commit to an additional 8-12 hours of study per week.
Specific entry requirements
C or above in GCSE English Language and preferably a C or above in GCSE Maths/Science.
What could I do next?
This is a useful qualification for progression onto Higher Education and a solid foundation for employment in many sports areas, including coaching, teaching, sports science, fitness & leisure industry and sports therapy.
