What will I learn?
The course introduces you to the skills and techniques needed to pursue a career in the media or the creative industries. It is designed to provide a wide variety of media production skills which include how to develop an idea into a media product and will show you how to research, plan, create and present your final product. The course will develop your understanding of the Media world both as an industry that informs and entertains but also an industry that influences and shapes the way that we think and see things. This course combines a range of modules both practical and theory that will allow you to achieve your goal. You will be able to pick a particular pathway to specialise which will help you in your career aim, be it to work in advertising, PR, Journalism, Marketing, animation, games, Radio, Television, Music, theatre or Film.
Specific entry requirements
At least two GCSE’s D-E or above or a Level 1 BTEC Diploma. Students who have not achieved GCSE Maths will be expected to work towards achieving a numeracy qualification.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Each element is delivered via practical workshops, group work and lectures. You are assessed on a portfolio of evidential work, coursework and written assignments.
What could I do next?
On successful completion of Level 3 Creative Diploma with a merit or Distinction grade profile you will be able to progress onto university, further training or employment.
