Level 3, AS/A2 Level - Two-year course

What will I learn?
The course provides students with the opportunity from a wide range of physical activities, encouraging students to engage in and promote a physically active lifestyle. At AS and A2, students look at scientific and socio-cultural aspects of sport and Physical Education. The practical element is an integral part of both years and enables students to be assessed in sporting, coaching or officiating skills.
How will I be taught and assessed?
AS PE is broken down to 60% for the theory paper and 40% for the practical element. At A2 this changes to 70% for the theory paper and 30% for the practical element.
Specific entry requirements
A practical specialism in at least one sport, played/ participated in to a high standard and a commitment to additional study and extra coaching/training.
General Entry Requirements
At least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above which must include English Language GCSE.
An average point score of 5.0 calculated from all of your GCSE subjects.
A commitment to an additional 4 hours of study per A Level subject per week.
What could I do next?
This is an important qualification for entry to HE institutions, and especially for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching, coaching, sports science and the health and fitness industry.
