Level 3, AS/A2 Level - Two-year course
Campus: Seevic Benfleet and New Campus Basildon
What will I learn?
The course develops skills from the two separate Literature and Language A Level courses. Students will analyse texts as diverse as novels, poems, plays, speeches, TV scripts and e-communication. The course considers how language is used in spoken and written forms.
How will I be taught and assessed?
Students will produce a folder of creative writing at AS and A2 Levels based on a theme set by the exam board. Both years also have a written examination.
Specific entry requirements
C or above in GCSE English Literature and English Language.
General Entry Requirements
At least 5 GCSE's at grade C or above which must include English Language GCSE.
An average point score of 5.0 calculated from all of your GCSE subjects.
A commitment to an additional 4 hours of study per A Level subject per week.

Career options include administration, publishing, journalism and teaching. Degree progression subjects include English, Drama, Linguistics, Creative Writing.
