Level 1, BTEC Extended Certificate
Duration: One Year Course
This course will help you gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to care for children and other vulnerable people.
You will learn how to respect and value individuals, plan creative activities and learn about what makes a safe environment for different groups of people.
As part of this course, you will also study modules on Care. If you'd like to study a Level 1 course but aren't sure what you'd like to do in the future, you can try a variety of courses throughout the year whilst developing your English and Maths skills.

The course also includes work experience, PSHE tutorials and one-to-one tutorials.
How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
You will work individually and in groups, taking part in practical activities, visits and meeting guest speakers.
There are no exams on this programme and all the work is completed by assignments that are set and marked by your Tutors throughout the course.
What Will I Learn?
This course offers an introduction to the Health and Care sector and is designed for you if you are interested in caring for others and working with people.
