Duration: Two Year Course
A-Level Physical Education will give you a fantastic insight into the world of sports performance.
In addition to engaging in, and promoting, a physically active lifestyle you will look at scientific and socio-cultural aspects of sport and Physical Education. The practical element of A-Level Physical Education is also an integral part of both years: not only will you have the chance to perform or coach a sport, you will also develop a wide ranging knowledge into the how and why of physical activity and sport.
You will also have the opportunity to become a full-time student athlete. This will see you combine your academic studies with training as part of the Seevic Storm competitive sports programme.
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Acquiring Movement Skills
- Socio-cultural Studies in Sport
- Exercise Physiology
- Sport Psychology.
How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
- One practical performance, as either a coach or performer in an activity
- One performance analysis task
- Three exams taken at the end of Year Two.

What Could I Do Next?
You could continue your training to become a Coach, Teacher or Physiotherapist. You may also be able to continue to a wide range of university courses, including Sport & Physical Education or enter employment in the Health & Fitness Industry.
A high number of our students progress onto degree courses at top universities including: Sport & Exercise Science, Psychology and Strength & Conditioning, as well as sports scholarships.
General Entry Requirements
Average point score of 5.3, calculated from all GCSE subjects. Your point score MUST include at least five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above - including English Language or Maths.
If you achieve English at a Grade C/4, your Maths grade must be a D and vice versa.
Students who achieve an average point score of 5.0 may be considered, this will be discussed with you at your interview which you will receive after you apply.
Specific Entry Requirements
You will need to be competing in at least one sporting activity.
Must have a minimum GCSE C/4 Grade in Maths, English Language and Science.
Practical kit and sports equipment for your chosen activity, revision text book and associated revision trips.
