Duration: One Year Course
Tourism is one of the world’s biggest employers, with excellent and exciting career opportunities available.
This is a one year course examining a variety of Travel and Tourism sectors which will develop your knowledge and understanding of the industry. You will also focus on the planning and organisation of holidays.
On successful completion it will prepare you for employment within this sector, or you may be able to progress onto the Level 3 Travel and Tourism programme at Seevic College.

How Will I Be Taught and Assessed?
You will have a mix of internal and external assessments, including: formal written assessments, role-plays, map work, practical work, group work, direct observation and tests.

- You will have the opportunity to participate in a two-week work experience placement within the Travel & Tourism industry. An example of a typical work placement might include: Hotels, Airports, Event companies and Travel Agencies.
What Could I Do Next?
On successful completion of the course you will have the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Travel & Tourism. Alternatively, you could progress to employment in one of the following areas:
- Travel Agent
- Event Management
- Working Overseas
General Entry Requirements
At least four GCSEs at Grade C/4 or D/3 (with at least one Grade C/4) English or Maths must be at a Grade D/3.
The course includes visits to enable student to research the tourism industry first hand. Examples of past trips include: Euro Disney, Thorpe Park, London and many local attractions.
