Year 10 pupils get a taste of SEEVIC life
Partner Schools take part in a variety of activities
More than 1,000 Year 10 pupils from partner schools Appleton, Castle View, Cornelius Vermuyden, Deanes, Furtherwick Park and Sweyne Park, each spent a day getting to know tutors and students, taking part in a number of activities and exploring the College facilities.
Activities included an introduction to digital photography, branding and marketing design, creative writing, games development, fitness testing in the Sports Hall and more.
Tanya Partridge, Head of Student Services, said: “The Year 10 Days aim to give the pupils a flavour of what studying at College is like. Pupils visit a range of different subject areas where they participate in short, fun, taster activities.”
SEEVIC College BTEC Performing Arts students wrote, produced and performed a composition called ‘Choices’ which explained the different opportunities for students once they leave school. The performance took place at the start of each day and included music, dance, singing and acting which showcased our talented students making it a very exciting start to the day.
A special Open Evening was also held recently, aimed specifically for Year 10 pupils. It is estimated that over 2,000 visitors toured the campus, visited subject areas and talked to award-winning Careers Advisors to discover what goes on at SEEVIC College.
