Aimee, 17, from Basildon said: “I designed the cover as part of a project for my course. I was pleased with my design so I thought I would go for it and submit it for the competition. The other designs were really good so I was so surprised to hear that I had won. I am very excited that every student at the College will get a planner with my design on it.

“I came up with the idea of using the theme of a puzzle because the College is made up of all different parts and people but they all come together as a whole to make SEEVIC a good place to study. I would like to be a designer when I leave College so this will look great on my CV and my family are really proud of me.”

The competition invited students to design a cover for the new 2010/2011 student planner that will be used by all SEEVIC College students to record assignment deadlines and other relevant dates. After all designs were submitted three were short-listed and placed online where students could vote for their favourite.

Tanya Partridge, Head of Student Services at SEEVIC College said: “I think Amiee’s design is excellent. I like the concept of ‘The SEEVIC Community’ that is portrayed in the design. It’s very exciting to showcase the talents of our students in this way. I look forward to seeing the finished product and think it’s great that students can be involved in creating products that will be used College wide.”

As a prize for winning the competition Amiee was awarded with a framed copy of her design, a £25 Lakeside shopping voucher and two sketchpads. Amiee said: “The framed design looks really good and I’m looking forward to spending the vouchers, I’m going to buy some new clothes for my holiday.”
