SEEVIC College brings learning to the community
A celebration morning was held at Canvey Community Centre recently to highlight the achievements of SEEVIC College adult learners who all successfully passed the Level 1 Getting Started in Pre-School Setting Qualification. The course was delivered on site at the Canvey Community Centre for a group of parents who could not get to college due to time or personal commitments. The centre offered crèche facilities to the parents whilst a SEEVIC College tutor delivered the course in their training room.
Adult learner Michaela Traveller who completed the Level 1 qualification said: “It brought the College into the community and so enabled me to do the course. The fact that we also had the crèche gave me every opportunity I needed.”
Fellow adult learner Francesca Arnold added: “It was a brilliant idea to bring the College to the Childrens Centre so we had the opportunity to complete the course. It has given me the inspiration to go on and complete my Level 2 with the Level 3 in mind.”
Sandra Tank Essex County Council’s Training Strategy Manager in Early Years said a few words and presented the learners with a certificate of achievement and flowers.
The event was a great occasion to celebrate the achievements of these adult learners, some of which are returning to SEEVIC College to study the Level 2 course.
