Seevic and New Campus Basildon awarded for their learner information, advice and guidance services
Seevic College and New Campus Basildon are proud to announce that their careers education and guidance service have been awarded the Recognition of Quality Award (RoQA) for information, advice and guidance.
The Recognition of Quality Award was presented to representatives from Seevic College and NCB’s Careers and Student Services departments recently at County Hall, Chelmsford.
Seevic College and New Campus Basildon’s Careers, Admissions and Work Based Learning departments also received accreditation from the Matrix Quality Standard earlier this year for the information, advice and guidance that they provide students.
Lorraine Braby, Careers Advisor for Seevic College and New Campus Basildon, said, “Gaining two prestigious quality awards within six months is a testament to the passion and commitment those involved in delivering advice and guidance have to ensuring students achieve their full potential.”
The accreditation from both organisations is a real achievement for Seevic College and New Campus Basildon and demonstrates the work that Student Services and Careers put in to providing high quality service for Seevic students and continually striving to improve and develop.
A continual strength highlighted in the assessment was Seevic’s ability to clearly listen to the views of learners, becoming involved in peer reviews and using specific in-house tools to target the specific needs of students.
Michael Yule, Matrix Accreditation Assessor, comments in the review report: “Learners feel well supported and readily volunteer that staff listen to their concerns and provide the necessary support.”
Karen James, Head of Student Services explained how pleased the College is to have achieved the RoQA and Matrix award and re-accreditation: “Since the introduction of these awards several years ago, the Careers staff ensure that the everyday service provided to students is of a standard to achieve nationally recognised awards.”
