Students win world silver medals for exam performance
Students achieved highest possible grade for exam
Three SEEVIC College students have each been awarded a World Silver Medallion by leading international awarding body EDI in recognition of their outstanding performance in the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Business Administration Level 2 examination.

Richard Cooper, 18, from Basildon, Natasha Savage, 18, from Benfleet and Victoria Haddock, 18, from Rayleigh were among only 13 students in the UK and were the only 3 students in Essex to win the award. The students all passed the exam with distinction, the highest grade possible for this exam, achieving some of the highest results in the world.
Richard was extremely pleased to win the award and said: “We only just got told that we had won, I was really shocked that I had done well enough to win a medal and now I know that only 13 students in the UK won an award, I’m gobsmacked! I thought that the exam was challenging but I felt quite confident that I had done OK. My parents were over the moon when I told them how well I’d done.”
Nigel Snook, Chief Executive of EDI said: “Winning an LCCI Medallion is clear evidence of the very high standard achieved amongst the highest scores world-wide in 2008. Over 250,000 students take LCCI qualifications each year in over 120 countries, so the competition for Medallions is very strong.”
Victoria said: “I was really surprised that I won the medal, I didn’t expect it at all. I worked hard in class and revised a lot before the exam so I’m glad it all paid off. I’d like to be a legal secretary and work in London when I leave SEEVIC College so having an award in Business will hopefully help me to get a good job.”
The students Business Studies Tutor Debbie Wood said: “I am extremely proud of the students from the Advanced Secretarial and Business Diploma courses who have won these International Medallions. These were achieved as the result of hard work both on their part and also their tutors. We wish them luck with their future careers in the business world.”
