Business Studies Tutor Lorna Laval said: “The students worked extremely hard and should be very proud of themselves, as they not only raised money for a worthy cause, but also passed their assignments at the same time! Students worked in groups to plan 5 different activities as part of their business assignment. The event was organised over the past nine weeks and involved team meetings and sending business correspondence both within the College and externally to make the necessary arrangements.”

Essential skills students at the College also done their bit for Children In Need by collecting enough pennies to create a ‘mile of pennies’. By asking friends, family and staff members the students managed to raise £107.10 all made up of 1p and 2p coins.

Danny Bryan, 16, from Canvey said: “I enjoyed raising money for Children In Need and I liked counting all it all up. I think the money we raised will give the children a happier life and that’s why it’s important.”
