Former student returns to SEEVIC College as volunteer
Visitors get a taste of college life
Former SEEVIC College student Hannah Graham, 20, from Benfleet has volunteered to help at every Open Evening since she left the College over 18 months ago, and will be returning again for the next Open Evening on Tuesday 10 November.

The event, on Tuesday 10 November at the Benfleet campus in Runnymede Chase, will take place between 6-9pm for guests to get a sneak preview into College life and discover the benefits of further education.
Hannah said: “I studied at SEEVIC College for 3 years, I enjoyed everything about it and made some amazing friends. I never wanted to leave, SEEVIC did so much for me and helped me change my life. I want to give something back for all the support and friendship it offered me, so that’s what keeps me coming back every time. I will keep coming back to help until they don’t want me anymore!”
Prospective students and their parents are invited to visit the College to get a taster of the learning environment, tour the campus and visit subject areas. They can speak with tutors, staff, and award-winning Careers Advisors as well as former and current students to find out what life is really like at SEEVIC College.
Hannah added: “I chose to study at SEEVIC College because of the adult environment and the amazing help they offered for my dyslexia. I now work at the Bank of England on the Governor’s Events Management Team, which was a job that SEEVIC helped me to get. By volunteering at their Open Evenings I can not only help show people around but I can talk to them about real life experiences at the College, why I chose to study there and what I do now.”
At the Open Evening Principal Sarah Wright will be giving a presentation in the Theatre, where she will introduce the College and talk about what new students can expect from life after school. Large numbers of visitors are expected at the College following the success of the October Open Evening when nearly 4000 visitors attended.
Previous SEEVIC College Open Evenings have been very successful and had a positive response from prospective students, with many completing an application form before they left for home.
The next SEEVIC College Open Evening will be held on Tuesday 2 February 2010.
