  • Educated to at least Degree level

 

  • A relevant recognised qualification such as in Careers Guidance or teaching for example a Diploma in Careers Guidance or NVQ4 in Guidance PGCE or  DTTLS

 

  • Computer related qualifications

 

 

  • First Aid or working toward

 

Experience which demonstrates:

 

 

  • Dynamic line management which shows understanding of leadership, coaching, formal appraisal and target setting

 

  • Proven track record of successfully managing a diverse and responsive student services provision including IAG services, UCAS and careers education

 

  • Ability to demonstrate success in delivering an innovative and highly effective careers advice, education and guidance to 16-19 year olds and adults that make a positive impact on their progression and life chances

 

  • Up to date knowledge of careers advice/education and educational guidance developments including knowledge of the latest resources and use of new media –social media for careers education purposes and the ability to use

 

  • Up to date knowledge of further and higher education developments including UCAS procedures. Knowledge of the online UCAS application system

 

  • Successful experience of promoting equality of opportunity through careers and guidance work

 

  • A proven track record of working with Schools and partnerships to devise and deliver schools liaison activities

 

  • Effective analysis and informative reporting on quality outcomes and impact of services

 

  • A dynamic and innovative approach to learner involvement that supports service development

 

  • Experience of classroom delivery and presenting to learners

 

  • Effective lesson planning

 

  • Innovative development of systems including IT-based systems

 

  • An ability to deal with people sensitively and confidentiality  within policy and procedural guidance
