In our latest Ofsted report SEEVIC College was praised for it’s response to meeting the needs and interests of its students, which was described as ‘outstanding’ and its students were described as ‘courteous and enthusiastic’.

The College is extremely pleased with the strengths outlined in the provision at SEEVIC and by the positive comments inspectors made about New Campus Basildon. The report states: ‘The diverse range of provision includes a substantial vocational offer and courses from entry to advanced level. Students’ opportunities have been enhanced by the establishment of New Campus Basildon, which has engaged learners successfully who were not in education, employment or training.’

Very encouraging elements of the report mark the College’s provision to meet the needs of individual students and described this as ‘particularly good for those students who are gifted and talented’. Ofsted also highlighted that ‘teachers give clear guidance on the progress students make and act rapidly to help those who are not making the progress expected. Most students are engaged actively in interesting and well planned lessons and receive excellent feedback which helps them improve.’

The College has been commended in the report for it’s good leadership and management, good promotion of equal opportunities and good teaching and learning with thorough planning and imaginative use of information learning technology.  

SEEVIC College prides itself on the support it gives to its students and the report recognises this stating, ‘guidance and support are good with particularly effective academic and additional learning support. Students are encouraged effectively to become independent learners and have easy access to a good range of specialist support.   

The inspectors commented positively on the students’ progression between levels, particularly the very high amount of students who progress from AS level to A level and the vast majority who then go on to higher education or employment.
