After completing A-Levels in History, Maths & Physics at Seevic in August 2015, Thomas secured a position as a Business Trainee in Restructuring Transaction Advisory Services with multinational professional services firm Ernst & Young.
Based at London Bridge, Thomas' role involves advising distressed businesses, for example, those who are in financial trouble, looking to cut costs or restructuring.
The programme lasts five years and by the end of that time, Thomas will be a qualified accountant. He is currently studying an ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) alongside work, which teaches essential knowledge and practical skills in finance, accounting and business. Once he has completed that he will study the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA).
Thomas says “The programme at Ernst & Young has exceeded my expectations, it’s absolutely fantastic. You wouldn’t get this experience doing a degree, there are lots of opportunities and I’m enjoying being busy.”
Speaking about his time at Seevic, Thomas said “College has been great for me as I was encouraged to work that little bit harder, I also had a lot more independence”.
